Germany's statutory health system covers most of the country, and its physicians' association, the KBV, represents the doctors who run it. In 2018 the KBV chose Respiro through its open call for innovation, to bring connected respiratory care into everyday practice.
Through the KBV's Zukunftspraxis (practice of the future) initiative, Respiro was set to be piloted in selected practices across several regions, from specialist respiratory clinics to general-practitioner offices.
"Digitalisation is not an end in itself: it is intended to facilitate the day-to-day lives of doctors and bring added value to patients. With the project KBV-Zukunftspraxis we want to promote meaningful digital projects."
Andreas Gassen, CEO, KBV
